Happy Wednesday morning to all you Degens out there! Before trudging through your Twitter spaces we have a few things you might have missed this weekend in web3. Today I have a few juicy tidbits to calm your nerves and secure your Mental IP for the week head.

More traditional companies securing IP for Web3

• Three times as many NFT trademarks have been filed this year compared to 2021, according to data from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

• Epic games recently partnered with Blankos Block Party, one fo the biggest mainstream deals of the year. Epic is reportedly also taking an interest in one of Galas upcoming titles "Grit", set to release on the Epic Game Store.

• Sega, one of the greatest web2 gaming companies has announced its plans for a blockchain game. Details are slim at this time however we do know The project, which will be built by another gaming company, Double Jump Tokyo. No tentative release date for the game has been announced yet, but Sega has not announced the development of any similar project. Bullish :)

Blockchain games I'm Playing This week

Each week I'd like to share a few Web3 games I'm personally trying out. Feel free to suggest more to us! The games must have a low barrier of entry, or one I've already obtained :), oh and none of the games in this list are sponsors or paying me to shill.

• Crazy Defense Heroes (CDH) is a run of the mill tower defense game...with over 2 Million Downloads TD. So we figured we'd give it a try and see if it's worth the hype. https://crazydefenseheroes.com/

• Arc8 - Think Blockchain Metaverse arcade. This functional and mobile ready app is powered by Polygon with almost 30 Million registered users, it's no wonder it is a #1 app on polygon. The app produced by GAMEE allows players to earn GMEE tokens (Erc-20) by playing a wide3 range of mini-games and tournament based 1v1 games. We found it to be both fun and functional, although I won't be getting rich of my GMEE tokens anytime soon ;). https://www.gamee.com/arc8

• Gods Unchained - A staple in my web3 diet, I've been playing Gods for quite some time now. I've found the game to be relatively bug free, and the narrative and art to be quite captivating. If you haven't played Gods Unchained yet...you are missing out. https://godsunchained.com/

The Sneaky News You May Have Missed

• Blockchain gaming studio Mythical Games and 22 Partners and advisors across web2 and web3 (including Ubisoft) announced a plans for a Foundation, Dao, and a native token in a joint effort to bring decentralization to the gaming sector

• Blockchain Gaming Developer Horizon Raises 40M in a Series A, their CEO states the money will be used to build out their marketplace and hire more staff to work on Skyweaver.
